Code is read more than it is written. Optimize for the reader.

Check for:

• Naming: Do variable and function names explain intent?
• Complexity: Can this be simplified?
• Duplication: Is there copy-pasted code that should be extracted?
• Comments: Are tricky parts explained? Are obvious parts over-commented?

If you have to read it twice to understand, suggest a refactor.
